The staff is amazing, unfortunately I don’t remember the names, but the girl at the reception was super sweet and friendly! The breakfast was amazing, there was something new every day, as well as some vegan options. And everything was really tasty too, shout-out to the breakfasts staff! The room cleaning was also great! Their pool was stunning – perfect size, always clean. Overall, it was an incredible stay! I totally recommend this hotel, you guys are doing a great job. ❤️

Hotel Castello is a former noble residence and elegant castle-style building in a quiet location, 4 km from Modena's historic centre. It offers elegant rooms, a private garden and free bike rental. It is a gorgeous building. I didn't stay at the Castle. I stayed next to it. And had the view of the Castle in front of my window.. The room was so clean and beautiful, nice furniture. I regret I stayed only one night.

Every region of Italy has something special to offer, and Parma (the Po Valley, Emilia-Romagna) is no exception. Parma is a small modern town loaded with charm. It is perfectly flat, so walking or biking is effortless. We arrived by train via Bologna, and it was a 5-minute walk to the duomo. Our rooms were in Palazzo dalla Rosa Prati right next to the baptistry; excellent. Not a lot of impressive architecture, but don't miss the reconstructed Farnese Theatre. We became "regulars" for drinks at bar/pizzeria Marvisi, but also had many exquisite meals in other restaurants. Discovered a type of prosciutto from a little town north of Parma named Zibello; wow!. It's an easy day trip to Bologna (also smaller than I expected) for more great prosciutto, cheese, wine, and shopping. Can't wait for our next visit!

Lovely town with plenty to see and do. Not overwhelmed by tourists so still a very authentic Italian way of life. Amazing food - drogeria de la rosa was superb. The people were super friendly and helpful. You can walk everywhere and the colonnades are everywhere to protect you from rain or direct sunlight. A perfect base to do day trips from in the Emilia-Romagna zone.

Food here is the BEST in Italy.
Food here is the BEST in Italy. Have travelled everywhere and Emilia-Romagna is heads and shoulders above all other regions for quality of pastas, sauces and my favourite - Tortellini. Prices are very good here aswell. Friday is a must for the market in the centre of the city. Parking is available underneath the main square and there is an fantastic selection of market stalls selling from cheap to high quality.

Bologna is a well preserved university town/city. It is a walkable city with kilometres of porticos to keep you protected from the weather. It is full of interesting historical buildings, churches, museums , cafes, markets and shopping. It is also a foodie haven for people like me. In almost every corner there is a shop selling all manor of food from the Emilia-Romagna region. It is a city worth spending a few days in.

The people are warm and friendly.
The people are warm and friendly. There are lots of really interesting churches, religious and cultural sites to visit. Everything we love about Italian food seems to come from the Emilia-Romagna region! It felt like we didn't stop eating and drinking and it was all fabulous. The fresh pasta, the signature dishes, the pork cheeks, the mortadella, the cheese, the wine.... The aperitivo tradition of providing food with your wine or spritz from about 6.30pm is a great way to try local foods, a cheap way to fill up on good food, and also makes sure you never need a starter if you do go on to a restaurant.

Bologna is an excellent base for travel in Emilia-Romagna. Good autostrada access to surrounding World Heritage towns. Central Bologna is beautiful and lively. Lots of flights from the UK. Public transport is pretty good and easy to use.

A great city if you enjoy food.
A great city if you enjoy food. The Bolognese certainly do and the many bars and restaurants are always full at meal times. The city centre is small enough to walk around but transport is also easily accessible. The Emilia-Romagna region is also home to the Motor Valley where you can get up close to Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc.

I spent the whole week in the hotel during Ironman Emilia-Romagna. The location of the hotel is amazing, right at the end of the transition. Highly recommend it. The breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming......they all remembered that I love a good cappuccino and there was a cup brought to my table without my asking for it. The housekeeping staff was very efficient....my room was spotless and tidy after they cleaned. I had a room that overlooked the sea. There was a busy street outside my 3rd floor balcony that was noisy but that isn't the hotel's fault....the view made up for it! I did not use the pool and did not eat any dinner meals there. The bartenders made excellent aperitivos.....

We had a beautiful room with a sea view (and no extra charge). The beds were comfortable, the only annoyance was that it was a split mattress in the double bed so lying in the middle was quite uncomfortable. We had an extra cot and this was great, thank you very much. Breakfast was excellent, lovely view from the restaurant on the 5th floor, lots of things to choose from. They provided us with a small breakfast during our early check out.
