Lively Gateway to Western Algarve
The 2nd-largest city in the Portugal region of Algarve after Faro, Portimão is best known for its beach resorts, sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and ochre cliffs. It offers a variety of shopping malls, restaurants, discos and bars. Don’t miss the fresh grilled sardines, a typical local dish.

Portimao was a pleasant town to stay in.
Portimao was a pleasant town to stay in. It's biggest draw is the beach, shopping/restaurants and doing a trip to the Benagil Caves. There is a cute little "train" ride that you can take as well. I feel like there could be a lot more that could be done promotion wise. Maybe some sight seeing tour booths along the main avenue. We came into town by train and used Bolt to get around. There is a lovely boardwalk with a fabulous beach . There are lots of places to eat along the way. Not suitable for someone with a disability as there are lots of steps to navigate to get down to the beach . I ate in a different restaurant every night. The food was good and not too dear. There are lots of little shops to peruse and people are very friendly. I would reiterate that the steps down to beach are not suitablle for someone with mobility issuesBernieIreland - 10Scored 10

Portimao and surrounding area full of interesting places to visit, boat trip to Silves very good. Did trains to Lagos and Lisbon which where good. Night time Portimao was very quiet, Pria Da Rocha is the place to go, good number of restaurants and bars to choose from, some with bands on.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0
The location for the race circuit was perfect.
The location for the race circuit was perfect. Nice neighborhood and fairly quiet. Be careful of stray dogs or dogs in other properties if walking around. Security of the gates is good, however the windows (most) don't lock. The kitchen utensils are basic and the kitchen itself. The shower heads are loose and hard to control. Lighting outside wasn't working and bbq was basic. There is a bus stop at the end of the road about 200 mtrs.

The beach was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There is a bus from the beach area to the central square but then you have to walk a short way to the train station. Having a train from the beach to the train station would be excellent.

The hotel was spotlessly with really comfortable rooms with plenty of space. The bar was open till 12 which we found great for a night cap after strolling back from a meal just down the road. The location is amazing with some of the best view points and beaches just outside of the hotel and only a short walk from the bars and restaurants. The pool side waiters will recommend the best the hotel has to offer while tou enjoy the sun. The location is ideal if you want to be close to almost everything so you can enjoy the party vibe whether with family or just with the wife. I recommend you take the time to go and enjoy the Spa.

Some may find the decor dated, but we found that it retro and with its own charm. The personnel are courteous and friendly. We would give special thanks to Nuno on reception and Ricardo, Ana, Olga & Viktor for their excellent service in the bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be back.

David and Silvia are very supportive and they made our stay very special. The rooms are above the studio and we also could enjoy some yoga class and Ayurveda massage (highly recommended!) Portimão is a good location to stay and explore Algarve region. I wish one day I will be back there.

Check in experience was fantastic and unique, welcomed with comfy chairs and a glass of wine. Staff were all excellent from reception to the restaurant. The rooms were big with large balconies. Sun bed areas were spacious and peaceful. Everything including the food was just excellent. Will definitely be coming again.

Even though there's a disco right in front of the hotel, we didn't have any problems to sleep. Air conditioner worked. The location is prolly one of the best, in the heart of the touristic street with bars, restaurants, just few meters from the beach. The reception staff was very welcoming and overall, the experience was good.
