Breakfast was good, pretty standard fare overall but good. My room was very satisfactory and clean.. Location was excellent. The bartender was excellent and a very personable host this was a pleasant surprise. The person he was training was brand new and when trying to explain giving her a tip there was again a communication gap. She was good and attentive just not quite attuned to the custom of giving tips for her good service.

I liked the views, quietness, fresh air, variety of restaurants, nice spacious metered parking at the city center (pretty cheap compared to Boston), opportunities to walk around the city. Lake Placid is a nice hub for those wishing to go hiking Adirondack mountains and forests but not wanting to live in a campsite.

I really liked the town.
I really liked the town. It's cozy, with old buildings and without skyscrapers. Beautiful hiking options. Nice museum. Many coffee places and dinning options. A little bit overpriced but still OK for a vacation. Definitely it's better to have a kitchen at you stay options to save some money on a food.

I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.
This is a beautifully kept old-school motel. The decor is straight out of the 70s ski lodge -- wood paneling, drop ceilings, vintage appliances. So if you're looking for the latest in hotel chic, keep looking. But if you want a solid, clean, affordable, friendly place to spend a few days exploring Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondacks, you can't do much better than this
The hotel setting is very rustic looking. Nice ambience music is very calming as you come into the building hallway.
Coffee and Tea is available
Lots of lounging space where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Loved the shampoo, body wash, lotion collection as the smell feels like you just came out from the spa.
Hotel staff at Bluebird were all welcoming and friendly.
The rooms were spacious and had all the amenities you would need. Breakfast bar w stools. Microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. Clean and comfortable and a shirt drive into downtown Lake Placid. Super friendly staff! Fire pits and grills with wood included. Cozy and cute.
Very modern, clean, and comfortable room. Located a short walk from a bunch of restaurants in the middle of Lake Placid. A great place to spend a few days exploring the Adirondacks.
The family rooms was spacious and perfect for family with 2 children.
Very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Plenty of good quality furnishings, towels and toiletries. Good kitchen. Supermarket nearby and wine merchant across the road. Short drive to town centre, where the main hotel reception is.
The location of the hotel was great. We were at the bottom of the main street in Lake Placid and could walk to many shops and restaurants. The view from our hotel was fantastic and there was a nice pool/patio area.
Tamara and the rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was cozy and clean. The facilities were adequate and close to the town of Lake Placid (10 mins by car).
Huge rooms, very clean, free parking, and free breakfasts were a plus! Simple hotel but clean and convenient. Breakfast is also very simple: cereal, yogurts, bars, fruit, etc.
Quite frankly there was nothing I would say that we liked. The carriage House is an old run down hotel with nothing to sy good about. We even found a bug in one of the beds.
