The Blue Sky Beach Resort is actually on the beach: It opens on to a small strip of the public beach at Negril. The beach here is rather narrow. The space is sufficient, however, to place a few deckchairs on it. Two of the hotel rooms offer a view onto the sea, interrupted only by the backside of a sundeck which has been put in between. All the other rooms face onto an interior open hallway. I had a big room facing the sea.

Negril is the more laid back part of Jamaica.
Negril is the more laid back part of Jamaica. It is quiet, especially up in West End and the cliffs. So there you are not right on a beach but up on cliffs you can jump from or coves you can take a
ladder down to swim. There are small markets and many mom-and-pop restaurants you can walk to. And lots of locals homes with their gardens and grazing animals.
The beach area of Negril is flat and sandy. Depending on where you stay, you can be at a small place on the beach and walk to stores, town restaurants and small beach restaurants. Or, you can stay at an all inclusive and never leave the property.
We like Negril better than Ocho Rios ( but seeing Dunns Falls and Bob Marley’s home in Ocho Is a must) We like Negril because of its less touristy feel.
If you’re here without children, you should split your time between beach and cliffs.

I absolutely loved our vacation in Negril!
I absolutely loved our vacation in Negril! I loved the cliffs and beach, the food, locals, scenery but I would’ve preferred to stay at another hotel. The restaurants were amazing and the sea was breathtaking. Can’t wait to return.
Especially to rock house!

Negril never disappoints, there are so many great cooks, everywhere. You can literally eat anywhere. We rent a car but taxis are a great way to get around to the beautiful beach. Talk to the locals get out of your hotel and explore.

Way past the large all-inclusive resorts, Negril is full of smaller and well maintained properties, guest houses, restaurants. Not so much an international cosmopolitan playground as an honest Jamaican setting.

The hotel is very very secluded and far from EVERYTHING.
The hotel is very very secluded and far from EVERYTHING. I almost thought we were lost trying to find the hotel.
The housekeeper is rude and impolite. The head housekeeper Alison made up for it though. Alison was sweet and kind, and went above and beyond to make up for her co-worker.
The bar/ restaurant servers were excellent. I loved all of the ladies.
We had a wonderful stay at Home Sweet Home. If you don't like big resorts, stay here! It's nothing fancy, but has comfortable, clean rooms, a nice little pool area, and plenty of places to lounge in the sun. You can use the ladder off of the rocks to get right in the sea and snorkel. The hotel manager, Tina, is very helpful and makes you feel right at home. You can walk to a number of small bars and restaurants, but be careful since there is no sidewalk along the road.
Food was very good. The staff was overall lovely and very friendly and welcoming. The location was a bit distant from some of the "action" in Negril. However, Gart taxi and tours were always available to take us to any destination we desired and they were very helpful and reasonably priced. Comfortable chaisses on the beach and good service by the staff there, as well. Lunch and beverages could be brought to us at the beach.

Near beach i found this was great. My room was nice and cool clean every 2 days but the window bays behind the long curtains was very dirty and full of black thick moss I found this very uncomfortable due to that i suffer with asthma an my health was at risk staying in the room, I liked the location very quiet on the beach not near all the congestion that Negril can bring.
Beautiful place surrounded by nature with very nice staff and cute small cottages, if it’s not necessary to stay directly at the beach, I TOTALLY recommend this place. Downtown negril is just ten minutes walking distance and a taxi can bring you to 7 mile beach in five minutes and is quite cheap. Can’t do anything wrong here.
Check in was smooth, and staff were friendly. The shower has hot water. The room had a kitchen, which included some dishes, soap, coffee pot, refrigerator, and microwave. The hotel is right on the beach, which was the best part of the hotel. The hotel restaurant is on the beach and has amazing views.
This hotel is quite cozy. I stayed on the Oceanside. I loved being right on the beach. You can walk along 7 mile beach which is beautiful, to the shopping area and other eateries. The staff were nice and friendly. It’s in a great location. The rooms are clean and spacious.
it was a nice location close to things and the hotel people were nice. front desk ladies definitely kind too. everything looked very clean and well maintained. food was decent. seems like it’s better to get all inclusive if you come.
great location, sea front rooms are lovely. This hotel is good mid range option on 7 mile beach. nice free continental breakfast which I prefer over all inclusive gluttony
