As I have a mobility scooter we were relocated to a ground floor room. This, for obvious reasons, was not the executive room for which I had paid. Also, we did not get the continental breakfast for which I had paid, at £6 per person per night. So, I reckon we are due a partial refund. I have to say, however, that John was superb and a credit to the hotel. He helped me get my scooter in and out of the hotel, as all entrances had steps.

I liked the location of the hotel
The other reviews was complaining but I will say for the cost it’s reasonable, if you’re looking for just sleep, it’s suitable, clean bedding, room clean, many clean towels, coffees teas kettle, tv , hot water
Only fridge not available and the bathroom lock broken
If you stay next to a noisy family etc unfortunately it’s very loud, you can hear everything
Overall for us we were comfortable and we’re thinking to go again

Folkestone has a lot to offer especially because it's close to other places as many coastal it is suffering a bit I would also say if you don't like steps or extremely steep hills even in the town centre then it may not be for you.

Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely walks as a whole family.
A good range of shops, restaurants, pubs and bars.
Canterbury was 20-30 minute drive away which was lovely as we went on a boat tour and saw the stunning cathedral.
We were able to get to mist places on foot and there was a lot to do.
Parks, beach, harbor arm, cinema, shops and lots of lovely sights.
We had a lovely Greek dinner on the harbor arm, however, it was quite expensive. We had a chicken gyros, a lamb one, a chicken gyros bowl, chips and some hummus with pitta and it was £60.

It wasn't my first choice (I was catching the channel ferry and I would have preferred to have been in Dover) but what a pleasant surprise. I was travelling with my dog and I was amazed at how dog friendly the town was. I particularly liked the coastal walks and I enjoyed reading the informational plaques around the town. One thing I found so touching was Remembrance Road adorned with the handmade poppies. I was struck by how much effort the council has devoted to highlighting Folkestone's attractions and making them accessible to visitors. I enjoyed just wandering around the town with my dog and appreciating it's history and sights. Folkestone turned out to be a serendipitous experience and I'm glad that I didn't stay in Dover.

Beautiful beach, good food., restaurants with excellent views, very easy to go around, public transport is 4.50 for the day, if you like beach with fine nice stones you have there, if you like beach with a nice soft sand you have there.
Great location , family rooms are clean and spacious. Had to call the number on the door prior to check in where a friendly staff member came to meet us and explained about the parking and check in . Family room had all the amenities such as wifi , tea & coffee making facilities, bottled water and complimentary chocolates on the bed was a nice touch . It’s not a 5 star hotel but if you want a clean basic place whilst in the area I would recommend
The hotel is one of the better ones in Folkestone - great location on the seafront, nice facilities, clean rooms and decent breakfast.
Being able to park for £5 a day outside the hotel is great - if you can get a space. I feel this information should be clearly stated on the website and when you book. I had to send several messages and call the hotel to find out about the parking.
The staff at the hotel were friendly.
The room was a good size, the bathroom was extremely clean. All the amenities were great. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel overall was a luxurious experience and we really enjoyed our stay.
The location is *perfect*. Within perfect distance of the town, Sandgate beach and a bus that too us to East Warren Cliffs, which we loved.
The hotel was brilliant value for money, very clean and good food with nice sea views. My bed was in need of a mattress topper but the staff sorted me with an extra duvet and made a note to replace mattress. It was in a good position for all that Folkestone has to offer. Good parking too.
An excellent hotel for an overnight stay enroute to an early Eurotunnel crossing. Great location with easy access to Folkestone sea front, comfortable room, spotlessly clean. A great value alternative to many that we looked at. The local Bouverie Tap pub did excellent food and drinks.
The room was a good size and the bed was huge and comfy. The location is decent though Folkestone isn't great. The staff were lovely! The breakfast was well stocked, varied and delicious. The hotel staff had made the room have little honeymoon touches!
Good hotel located near the cliffs/beaches of Folkestone. About a 20 minute walk along the coastal promenade to the town centre. Comfortable bed and rooms, good shower. Used as an overnight stop before onward travel by ferry from Dover to France.
Zoe was a wonderful host. She accommodated our daughter at the last minute, was very helpful, and the. property was gorgeous. We would totally stay there if ever we went back to Folkestone. We just wish we had had more time there. Thank you Zoe.
This delightful Victoria terrace is the perfect home from home. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. With an easy walk to Folkestone town Center. We are looking forward to staying there ago when we are in Folkestone
WE will have stayed 3 times in the space of 2 months.Have stopped for 3 day stays in the balcony rooms loved it and keep going back for more.We have stopped in many dearer hotels in Folkestone but liked the Southcliffe the best.
The room was quiet and well located with balcony and seaview. Reception staff were very helpful and informative. Hotel was close to shops, cafes, bus station. Lots to see and do in Folkestone.
Location is superb. Beach was clean and sandy, kids played all day. Public toilets were also clean. So many restaurants to choose from near the hotel. Folkstone is a beautiful place to be.
For a one night functional stay to take an early crossing the hotel fits the bill. Staff were very friendly and there's plenty of parking with cameras. The hotel was clean.
Hotel perfectly situated next to the Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean rooms. Overall, a very good value for money.
