Waking up in the morning, it is time to get into the sauna to get your body temperature up followed by a shower and a hot breakfast. The staff were excellent in ensuring that we did not miss our shuttle service to the Hurtigruten ship.

Only 12 miles from Alta’s town center, along the Alta River, is where this special igloo hotel is located. The hotel was spectacular. We had the chance to view all the suites and they were all incredible. If you can splurge on the suite…do it! The art in the hotel is just incredibly creative and beautiful. All around in incredible!!

My check-in was at 15:00 but I arrived at 13:00 and I didn't have to wait, everything was ready. I had a very clean room with a breathtaking view, and it was also very calm. No annoying noice. It's so important to me.

Great, modern city with interesting architecture.
Great, modern city with interesting architecture. Historically interesting, very good museum ( Gjenreisningsmuseet) about the town history and that of Finnmark, especially during and after the total destruction in World War II . Hurtigruta Harbour and apparently very busy airport. Surrounding nature is great.

Great experiences just outside the hotel, both with or without my camera. Steilneset Memorial commemorates the victims of the witchcraft processes in Finnmark was a special experience.

I was very lucky with my room: I looked straight at the harbour and church from my bed. Free hot water and tea bags whenever needed. Otherwise everything was fine and kind of as expected for a big modern hotel - good wifi, friendly staff etc. The breakfast was nice. Location is brilliant, and I really liked Hammerfest, as it is not too small to be bored yet not as touristy/big as other towns in the North of Norway. I washed two items of clothing with the soap in the bathroom and they still smell nice even 4 days afterwards :)

Surprisingly good for a given price. I stayed in the cabin which was clean. Beds are much comfortable then they look like. There was a table with stools and refrigerator. Shared bathrooms and toilets were clean. Wifi worked fine, shared kitchen provides basic equipment. Parking available right in front of the cabin. You can pay by card and there is a playground on premise. Lady at the reception was very nice.

Fantastic location and we were lucky enough to have spectacular views of aurora borealis. We stayed in a lodge; this was a good size, really comfortable and it was nice to put a log fire on. Breakfast and meals were served in the main building... slippers provided. Staff were helpful and friendly, doing some extra 'gritting' on the path to make it easier to get luggage to the lodge.
