1920s Charm Meets Modern Hotel Management At Seattle’s MarQueen Hotel
Poised at the center of many of Seattle’s most attractive sights and activities, the MarQueen Hotel never hurts for reservations, but its small staff is always short on time—they also run the nearby Inn at Queen Anne.
Sales & Marketing Manager, Almendra Gutierrez, came to the MarQueen about three years ago, just as the hotel was transitioning onto the BookingSuite platform.
Luckily, updating both websites only takes about 10% of Gutierrez’s time. She spends most of that time updating photos, information, and promotions in BackOffice. To create a new article takes her just 20 minutes, she said.
“To me, having a handsome website is to be confident that it’s going to look great and say what we want it to say when someone goes there,” Gutierrez said. “It’s such a great feeling.”
The MarQueen has also experienced success working with Booking.com, which elevated their star rating from 3 to 3.5 after the property’s on-site lounge, The Tin Lizzie, opened two years ago. About 55% of the MarQueen’s business comes from leisure travelers booking though online travel agencies.
“It’s been a significant boon for us in the last year and a half or so,” Gutierrez said.
