The location was excellent, sea views across the bay from the rooms were amazing. The breakfast was very good and the service was excellent. The rooms were beautiful, nice and clean and had all that we needed.

The room was comfortable, warm and freshly renovated. Check-in and out was easy, and the hosts communicated brilliantly. The location was great. Able to get down to the beach quickly; 10 - 15 minutes walk (we walk quickly...)--albeit there is a fairly steep hill to negotiate, but you have to come up the hill if you want to get anywhere at all from the beach, so it's unavoidable. I'm sure you can easily get a taxi back up if necessary.

I had a fantastic stay at St Merryn. The tone was set when I was surprised by the beautiful sea view from my room - for a fortnight I enjoyed staring out of my window every night :--) The value for money of this stay is perfect. It is much cheaper than several places in the area, and so yes - there is no breakfast and the room is not cleaned daily (thank goodness, as that is extremely un-ecological), but the owners are very clear about that from the start. I have never stayed somewhere where the owners were so honest about possible shortcomings like not providing breakfast. I've really only experienced positive things about St Merryn: they have super good coffee, oat milk was provided, the location is extremely convenient in terms of public transport, there's a supermarket on the doorstep, it's right next to a beautiful footpath to St Ives/Carbis Bay, the bed is great, there's a bath/shower (what a luxury to be able to take a bath!), the owner is incredibly helpful, and the terrace is a lovely place to have a (self-serve) breakfast in the sun. I'd love to come back :--)

We had such a good stay here! They were incredibly kind and let us check in early when we arrived, and the breakfasts there were also great. The room was very clean and comfortable and the location was fantastic!

Location was great proximity to station. Hosts Sue & Jan were wonderful. Breakfast delivered to room each morning was varied & plentiful. Great view from bright & airy room.

The house is very accessible to the station, only a 5 minute walk if you are travelling via train. The property is very organized and tidy. The interior is warm and very cozy. All the staff and the owners of the house, Angela and Olivier are very warm and accommodating. I should say 10/10 for comfort and cleanliness. The stay includes a breakfast which offers great options. They also serve vegan and gluten-free dishes. All in all the experience was superb.
